FECRS Conventions

Each year, the Florida East Coast Railway Society host an annual convention in a city along the FEC. These conventions have featured tours of FEC's facilities, rail customer tours, FEC historical location visits, historical bus tours, train rides, and much more!

2025 Convention

The 2025 Convention was based out of Viera, FL. Tours this year included visiting the Florida East Coast Railway's New Smyrna Beach Mechanical Shops, the Port Orange Depot, and a rare mileage excursion from Fort Pierce with US Sugar's Sugar Express 148 Steam Locomotive (originally an FEC steam locomotive).

Sugar Express Rare Mileage Excursion

The FECRS arrange a rare mileage excursion from FEC's Fort Pierce Yard to Clewiston, FL. This was the first time an active steam locomotive had been in Fort Pierce since the 1950s!

Members were able to tour FEC's shop facilities in New Smyrna Beach

Sugar Express Photo Runby

As part of our Sugar Express excursion, a couple photo runbys were arranged.

During the tour of the New Smyrna Beach shops, members were treated to viewing the Honoring Our Veterans locomotive being lifted by the shop's cranes.

Port Orange Depot

While visiting the historic Port Orange Depot, were able to tour this depot and recently preserved rolling stock from Florida Adventures in Railroading and also railfan FEC train 105 passing by.
